Stuart Bailey will never be forgotten!

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of one of the  founders of RLSS Poole Lifeguard.

Stuart Bailey was instrumental in the creation of our club back in 1975. Stuart has been monumental in the club’s history and has always been a huge inspiration to many, many club members over the years.

His dedication to Life Saving and Lifeguarding was second to none and he went on to actively pursue and spread the word within the RLSS-UK, Globally and more recently the RLSS Wessex Branch. Whilst not active with the club over the latter years, Stuart was a Life Member and always had the interests of the club at heart. He would always support and help out where and whenever he could, in particular assisting with the annual Brownsea Island Swim.

Only last year Stuart was actively organising and running a Beach Lifeguard Trainer/Assessor course in the local Poole Bay area, to encourage new people to get involved and spread the skills of lifesaving, lifeguarding, general water safety and drowning prevention.

Stuart has been taken from us far too soon and he will be greatly missed, and whilst it is huge loss to those left behind, his legacy will most definitely continue.

Our thoughts remain with his wife Jill Bailey, also a strong advocate for RLSS Poole Lifeguard and his family and friends at this time.

RIP Stuart Bailey – thank you for all that you have done for us and the World of Life Saving and Lifeguarding.

As the great man himself would say: ‘Oggie oggie oggie, oi, oi, oi!’ – ‘OUT’
