Kayak Training Session

An opportunity for our members to have some quality paddle craft training, along with getting afloat on our sit-on-top kayaks and a having a fun session.
This will be an organised training session with a member of RLSS Boscombe Lifeguard who is a very experienced and Qualified Canoe/Kayak Instructor.
This session is aimed at members who are in school year 9 and upwards ( no limit on upper age).
We ahve organised this training session because our main purpose as a club, is to help the community by providing safety cover at a number of open water swimming event during the summer season, and we would like to encourage more of our members to volunteer to assist us, with these events, (you can even earn yourself £10 (cash) a night by covering a Tues evening session at shore road.
The training/familiarisation session will take place at Sandbanks on Saturday 18th May, with the possibility of either a fall back date of Sunday 19th May, depending on weather, or a 2nd session on the Sunday depending on demand.
We only have 12 kayaks so best book your place now, to avoid disappointment and make sure you come prepared to get wet. .i.e. wetsuits - wetsuit boots, gloves it you wish- a hat to keep warm and your lunch as well as warm clothing to get into afterwards.
Any club member (yr9 or above) can take part, and please note this is not just aimed at beginners as we will aim to do day of personal skills and canoe lifeguard skills and provide technique to make you more confident on the water
Please sign up for either or both the Sat and the Sun pending yoru availability - in case we need to use the fall back day.
You can also register and interest in taking part but cant make the 18th/19th May 🙂
