British Rowing Regatta No.1 2025
DETAILS:
I've attached links to the working versions of the documents you've requested below. Julie Collins helped us with our event risk assessment last year so hopefully that aligns with what you expect. Our emergency action plan and safety plan has to follow a British Rowing format, but we can definitely amend them if you need anything clarifying. I've also had your email address added to the event participant distribution list - you'll start to get more specific event emails once the entries close in a couple of weeks.
Our exact timetable depends on the number of entries, but we're expecting something like this:
Saturday 17th May
15:00-18:00 – Time Trials (not head to head racing - rowers set off at 2 minute intervals and do a 'lap' of the course - timetable may be reduced depending on final entries - that is maximum available schedule)
18:00-18:30 – J16 Finals (2 races of top 4 J16 females and top 4 J16 males)
Sunday 18th May
9:00-9:45 – Men’s Round 1
9:45-10:30 – Women’s Round 1
11:00-11:45 – Men’s Round 2
11:45-12:30 – Women’s Round 2
13:30-14:45 – Men’s Round 3
14:45-16:00 – Women’s Round 3
The competition planner has made a fairly significant change to the style of the event from the one you attended last year. The number of lanes has increased from 2 to 4 for some of the rounds, but without the intermediate slalom buoys. The lanes will be spaced around 20m apart. I've attached an image below. The impact is that for some rounds, 4 rowers will be on the water at any one time. How does that affect your safety cover? I can discuss this on the phone if you need more clarification.
