It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of one the clubs founder members and trustee -Ian Andrews. Our thoughts are with his wife Valerie and family.
Ian was instrumental in the formation of the club back when it began on 6th June 1975. Ian, the town clerk at the time, gave his full support and assisted in the acquisition of the clubs first premises at Sandbanks. Ian continued to provide valuable, support, advice and assistance to the club as a trustee until he sadly suffered a stroke last year.
Ian, whilst not a notable presence at the club, worked hard in the background, always attending our AGM to share his knowledge and gave valuable advice to aid the smooth running of the club and its finances and successfully secured the funding from The Talbot Trust for our current rescue boat ‘Legacy’.
As a club we will be forever in his debt for the fabulous service and friendship he gave us. Ian will be greatly missed by us all. Rest in peace Ian.
