RLSS-UK Speeds was so exciting.

Well done to all of the RLSS Poole Lifegaurd members who took part in the RLSS-Uk National Speed Championships 2016, which were held in the awesome London Aquatic Centre in February.

It was a big learning experience for us all, and I’d like to thank all of the competitors and parents for their efforts.

Special thanks goes to Daniel Mulheran for not only undertaking time keeping duties for the event, but also transporting 2 of our manikins, and also 3 of our competitors home after the end of a very long day.

A Competitor’s Perspective!

Speeds was so exciting. Yes it was tiring and long but it was a once in a lifetime experience that I won’t forget. I think It brought the team closer together and really helped us bond being up against all the other teams.

To even be at the Olympic Pool was excitement enough, let alone to swim in it against other incredibly talented swimmers.

We may not have won our races but I’m so proud of our achievements. We tried our best and had a great time, even when wandering about trying to find the hotel and falling asleep in the car on the way home; that’s what it’s all about.

If anyone else gets the opportunity I say go for it! No matter how you think you’ll do, it’ll be worth it.
